I was downright giddy when I saw a recent Facebook announcement from the Black Church Food Security Network. They host “soil to sanctuary” farmers market events at member churches which give city/suburban types like me a chance to purchase directly from the men and women who toil the soil.

We have local weeds that possess the potential to provide an oasis in our food deserts.

I read about a disturbing trend in a recent article from Decisionmagazine.com. It came from a survey done with people who identify as born again Christians. According to this article less than half of the Christians surveyed believe that Jesus lived a sinless life. Huh?

I’ll be blunt. If Jesus didn’t live a sinless life and for that matter if he couldn’t live a sinless life than all our church going, good deeds, prayers, and everything else we think will take us to heaven is pointless.
